If you’re into cars and motors make a career out of it and study a National Certificate in Motor Industry to kick start an apprenticeship. You could earn a good wage as a mechanic doing something you really like. Apprenticeships and job opportunities in the motor trade include working on cars, trucks, motorcycles, marine motors or automotive electrics. You’ll get real world workshop experience with local firms during work experience.

Todd Rogers
After leaving Central Hawke’s Bay College, Todd signed up for a carpentry apprenticeship in the New Zealand Army. During his 15-year service, he was the army’s construction manager with responsibility for as many as 52 apprentices in training.

Get a 'taste' of all the trades, Certificate in Applied Practical Skills - Trade Skills provides students with an introduction to carpentry, electrical, automotive, mechanical engineering and collision repair.
