Work Based Training (Training Opportunity) – Tairāwhiti
On successful completion of this programme students will have achieved a broad range of introductory skills in the work place including First Aid and Food Safety. It would be realistic to expect students who successfully complete a Level 2 programme to have the skills and knowledge to be able to:
- successfully move from work experience to paid employment either with a work based training employer, or within the chosen industry.

Todd Rogers
After leaving Central Hawke’s Bay College, Todd signed up for a carpentry apprenticeship in the New Zealand Army. During his 15-year service, he was the army’s construction manager with responsibility for as many as 52 apprentices in training.
Try all the Trades
Get a 'taste' of all the trades, Certificate in Trade Skills provides students with an introduction to carpentry, electrical, automotive, mechanical engineering and collision repair.

Purpose designed and equipped with state-of-the-art teaching technology, EIT’s newest building reflects an innovative approach to trades training. The new facility provides a ‘hands on’ learning environment for over 190 students per week.
