EIT is delighted to be one of the New Zealand tertiary institutions to offer FREE programmes for eligible first time tertiary students.
Margaret Hetley Scholarship
Margaret Hetley Scholarship, EIT Hawke’s Bay
The Margaret Hetley Scholarship was established to assist women to undertake tertiary study and to commemorate the centennial year of the women’s suffrage movement. It was named in memory of Margaret Hetley who gifted the EIT Taradale campus to the Hawke’s Bay community.
Payment of the scholarship will be made by the Otātara Trust Inc.
Criteria
The applicant must be:
- Female
- Based in Hawke’s Bay
- A NZ permanent resident or a NZ citizen
- A full-time student
The applicant can receive other scholarships and funding.
Funds: $ 2500
Applications open: 1 February
Applications close: 15 March

Ōtātara Trust Scholarship
Ōtātara Trust – EIT Hawke’s Bay
For any returning EIT Hawke’s Bay student undertaking Level 6 and/or Level 7 study.

The Faculty Dean’s Study Abroad Scholarship
The Faculty Dean’s Study Abroad Scholarship
Spend a semester in Germany with the Faculty Dean’s Study Abroad Scholarship.
Apply now for exchange study in Germany.
Applications can be submitted one semester before the intended Study Abroad semester. Up to two scholarships will be awarded each academic year.
Applicants notified within two months, depending on the intended year/semester of Study Abroad.
Youth Scholarship
EIT Youth Scholarship
To be eligible for this Scholarship students must meet the Youth Guarantee Criteria which is:
- Be 16 – 24 years old on the start date of their programme. Fifteen year olds may be eligible with an early leaving exemption from Ministry of Education.
- Be enrolled in a Youth Guarantee eligible full-time programme of study at Level 1 – 3.
Availability is limited, please ensure you contact the team and submit your application promptly to avoid disappointment.

Year 13 Scholarship
EIT is offering a limited number of Year 13 Scholarships.
Are you currently a year 13 student and thinking about further study in 2025? EIT is offering year 13 scholarships that could make life a bit easier for you.
The Year 13 Scholarship covers one year of full-time study and is available to Hawke’s Bay and Tairāwhiti (Gisborne) based students who are beginning an undergraduate degree.
Live outside these regions? No problem, there are some programmes that are available nationwide, so if you are Year 13 and want to study one of these, you can apply for this scholarship too.
