For a limited time only, EIT powered by eCampus NZ has a range of online certificates that are FREE. So if you are thinking about studying, these could be the perfect options for you. Enrol before 1 December 2022 to make it happen.
To qualify for this offer you must:
- Live in the Hawke’s Bay or Gisborne regions.
- Be a domestic learner.
- Free fees apply to the full qualification if you enrol before 1 December 2022 or begin your programme of study on or before 12 December 2022.
FEESFREE.govt.nz
Fees Free tertiary education is a Government initiative targeted at first-time learners. You may be able to get one year’s study or two years’ training fees-free. Check if you are eligible and how much study or training you can get by entering your National Student Number (NSN) in the tool below.
General Scholarships
EIT offers a variety of scholarships across various subjects and programme levels. Some scholarships are based on your age, some are specific to the subject you want to study. Not all scholarships are based on your academic ability and anyone wanting to study should investigate what scholarships are available to them.
You can find a list of EIT scholarships here however there are many more scholarships offered nationally. Information about these is on an database called “givME”. givME is accessible at EIT or at some public libraries. If you would like to come to EIT to look through the giveME database don’t hesitate to contact scholarships@eit.ac.nz or call in for a chat.
Year 13 Degree Scholarship
EIT is offering a limited number of Year 13 Degree Scholarships.
The Year 13 Degree Scholarship covers one year of full-time study and is available to Hawke’s Bay, Tairāwhiti (Gisborne) and Taupō based students who are beginning an undergraduate degree in 2021.
NOTE: Scholarships for the Bachelor of Māori Visual Arts (Te Toi o Ngā Rangi), the Bachelor of Viticulture and Wine Science and Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing degrees are open to students nation-wide.
Māori and Pasifika Trades Training
Māori and Pasifika Trades Training is an initiative supporting Māori and Pasifika people into trades training programmes , with a distinct focus on ensuring there is a clear pathway beyond their time attached to Te Ara o Tākitimu.
Applicants must
- Identify as either Māori or Pasifika
- Be aged between 16 – 40 years

EIT Youth Scholarship
To be eligible for this Scholarship students must meet the Youth Guarantee Criteria which is:
- Be 16 – 19 years old on the start date of their programme. Fifteen years old can be eligible with an early leaving exemption from Ministry of Education.
- Be enrolled in a Youth Guarantee eligible full time programme of study at Level 1-3
