Overview
The Mary Isabella Pharazyn (nee Bollinger) scholarship was introduced in 2017, following a bequest received from the Pharazyn Estate to be used for the benefit of students in the Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) at EIT. This scholarship is awarded annually to one student.

To encourage completion of studies
To diminish barriers to learning
Scholarship value: $2,500
Applications open: 1st February 2026
Applications close: 15th March 2026
Eligibility criteria
- New Zealand Citizen of Permanent Resident
- Applicants must be undertaking their 3rd year of the Bachelor of Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) degree at EIT Hawke’s Bay.
- Must have undertaken Year 1 and 2 of their Bachelor of Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) degree at EIT Hawke’s Bay.
