EIT | Te Pūkenga is offering a limited number of Year 13 Degree Scholarships.
The Year 13 Degree Scholarship covers one year of full-time study and is available to Hawke’s Bay, Tairāwhiti (Gisborne) and Taupō based students who are beginning an undergraduate degree in 2023.
NOTE: Scholarships for the Bachelor of Māori Visual Arts (Te Toi o Ngā Rangi), the Bachelor of Viticulture and Wine Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Biodiversity Management) and Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing degrees are open to students nation-wide.
For students who qualify to have their first year paid for under the government fees-free policy, the Year 13 Degree Scholarship will cover the second year of the undergraduate degree (please see eligibility criteria below). You can visit feesfree.govt.nz to find out more about the first-year free government policy.

Receiving the Year 13 Degree Scholarship in Year Two
The Year 13 Degree Scholarship must be applied for prior to the start of the first year of an undergraduate degree to qualify for year two free. Applications received after the start of year one cannot be considered.
If you meet the criteria for the Year 13 Degree Scholarship you will not need to do anything to receive payment in your second consecutive year of degree study. EIT | Te Pūkenga will assess your entitlement and apply the scholarship.
At the start of your second year of study you will be sent a letter letting you know whether you qualify to receive the scholarship in year two.

Margaret Hetley Scholarship, EIT | Te Pūkenga Hawke’s Bay
The Margaret Hetley Scholarship was established to assist women to undertake tertiary study and to commemorate the centennial year of the women’s suffrage movement. It was named in memory of Margaret Hetley who gifted the EIT | Te Pūkenga Taradale campus to the Hawke’s Bay community.
Payment of the scholarship will be made by the Otātara Trust Inc.

The Graduate Women Manawatu Charitable Trust Inc. operates Academic Dress Hire. Heritage (Inc) was established by Dr O C Mazengarb CBE QC MA LLD and colleagues in 1942 to assist children, initially just sons, who had lost their fathers in the war. Then Prime Minister, Peter Fraser, requested that daughters also be added to the logo and as recipients of assistance, be it counselling or financial.

Māori and Pasifika Trades Training is an initiative supporting Māori and Pasifika people into trades training programmes. Te Toka is the name of the scholarship offered in the Tairāwhiti region.

Who’s this for?

Vet Services Hawkes Bay, Vet Services Dannevirke & Vet Services Wairarapa are proud to offer a number of scholarships to students undertaking studies in a Veterinary Nursing programme through an approved New Zealand tertiary educational provider.
The scholarships are open to all NZ citizen’s or permanent residents studying a NZ certificate in Animal Technology (level 5), a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (level 6), or a Bachelor in Veterinary Nursing (level 7). Applicants can be studying either full time or part time.
Successful candidates will receive a scholarship towards their Veterinary Nursing study fees and will have the opportunity to complete a minimum of 4 weeks paid practical work experience with Vet Services Hawkes Bay, Vet Services Dannevirke or Vet Services Wairarapa.

The Constellation Brands Scholarship was established in 2012 to support a student who is undertaking their second year of study towards a Bachelor of Viticulture and Wine Science degree.
Available to New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident students.
One scholarship will be offered annually to a full-time student studying at EIT | Te Pūkenga. The annual value of the scholarship shall be $5,000 towards tuition fees or living expenses. Constellation Brands NZ shall also provide mentoring to the successful applicant as well as the opportunity to undertake work experience over the summer holidays or during the vintage period.

The Hawke’s Bay A & P Society Young Vintner’s Award was established in 2002.
This scholarship is open to first and third year students enrolled in the Bachelor of Viticulture and Wine Science degree. It is awarded annually at the Hawke’s Bay A & P Bayleys Wine Awards Dinner.
Available to New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident Sstudents.
The scholarship includes $2,000 towards study, an opportunity to work with Craggy Range for a vintage, a ticket to attend the Wine Awards Dinner and the chance to be an Associate Judge for the Wine Judging in the following year.

The aims of the Trust are:
This scholarship aims to recognise outstanding academic and leadership qualities in a student currently
enrolled in a full time land-based production industries programme, either graduate or postgraduate, at a
New Zealand University.
Preference will be given to applicants, who are within one year of completing their studies. They will have a
familial association with Hawke’s Bay and are, or have been, involved in the practical aspects of the industry to which the programme is linked. The criteria for selection will be based on leadership potential and academic merit. It is hoped that the recipient will ultimately seek employment in Hawke’s Bay and pass on the benefits of their learning to the community at large.
The recipient will receive NZD$3,000 towards their course fees.

Hawke’s Bay Women in Wine Prize – EIT Bachelor of Viticulture and Wine Science Top Female Student
Women in Wine NZ helps women reach their full potential, step up into leadership roles and encourages businesses within the industry to assess their diversity and inclusion culture.
CONNECT. INFORM. CHANGE
The programme was originally founded in 2017 after no women put themselves forward for the NZ Winegrower’s Board Elections. The New Zealand wine industry supports and encourages diversity, and there are many women working in the industry in all roles and at all levels – and we realised this needed attention.
