In this Propagation and Cultivation night class, you will learn to:
- Collect your own native tree seeds
- Learn the tricks of the trade to ensure your seeds germinate and thrive
- Make your own successful potting mix
- Learn to record your seed raising journey for future reference
- Incorporate sustainable solutions in your growing methods
- Learn health and safety practices to keep you safe
Who is eligible to enrol?
- NCEA Level 1; or
- A qualification at Level 1 or above, with evidence of Literacy and Numeracy abilities equivalent to NCEA (Level 1); or
- Evidence of relevant knowledge and experience, including Literacy and Numeracy abilities equivalent to NCEA Level 1.
In the latter two situations you may be required to participate in an enrolment interview with the purpose of verifying the evidence.
Length: 6 months
Level: This course is Level 3
Delivery: This course is delivered as a night class so you can fit it around your work and home life. Classes run from 5.30pm – 8.30pm.
Dates: The first offering of this part-time course starts Tuesday, 15 February 2022.

You will complete a selection of unit standards to a total of 16 credits that include:

- Report writing skills
Who is eligible to enrol?
- This is an open entry programme which means no formal qualifications are required.
- You must be aged 16 years of age or over and you are required to have a reasonable reading level in order to cope with the programme and carry out written instruction.
Length: 8 weeks
Level: This course is Level 3
Delivery: This programme is delivered either on campus or via online learning so you can fit it around your work and home life.
Dates: This part-time, job-focused training scheme starts monthly from February to November.
