cca Renner has recently completed the NZ Certificate in Animal Technology (Veterinary Nursing Assistant) Strand [Level 5] and the NZ Diploma in Veterinary Nursing [Level 6] online whilst working part-time at Vet Ent in Havelock North. Bex has always loved animals and loves her job at Vet Ent.
Veterinary Nursing Scholarship
Vet Services Hawke’s Bay and Vet Services Dannevirke offer an annual scholarship to undergraduate students who are commencing their final year of study in either the NZ Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing at EIT.
Four successful candidates will receive a scholarship of $1,000 towards their EIT study fees and will complete a minimum of three weeks practical work experience with Vet Services Hawke’s Bay or Vet Services Dannevirke.
Facilities
EIT has a fully equipped teaching animal care facility which allows students to enjoy a mix of classroom theory, animal handling and practical experience. It houses a varied selection of animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, turtles and birds. EIT also has a simulation veterinary clinic which has a clinical practical room, reception area and treatment room, all of which create the ideal environment for hands on training.
Laboratories
EIT laboratories are modern and purpose-built comprising both general and specialist laboratories.
The general laboratories, which cater for up to 60 students at any one time, are fully equipped for all sciences.
