The School of Hospitality staff and students look forward to welcoming you to Toru Restaurant, Palmerston Road, Gisborne. This semester we return with offerings from all of our Hospitality Programmes – Cookery, Café and Restaurant Skills and Trades Academy.
We start Semester Two off with our Level 4 Cookery students providing dinners with service provided by the Restaurant and Café Skills Level 3 students.
These students will finish their productions for the year with a seven course Italian Degustation Dinner with Italian food and wine. Unfortunately, we cannot cater for any special dietary requirements during these two diners.
We will also run a Quiz night with Italian style food served throughout the evening. We will loosely be theming the quiz night – ‘Back to School’ so get your team of six together for a fun night.
As we head to the end of the year, our level 3 Cookery students will be offering a ‘Christmas’ À la Carte lunch with modern dishes and some traditional favourites. Great to get a group together to celebrate the upcoming festive season.
Our Trades Academy students are offering three dining options from August:
These students are still at school, but come to EIT every Friday to study various trade related careers. Please note that these lunches are not licensed and will be run from our Palmerston Road campus.
Brew Bar – Coffee and a light snack – Fridays in August
Café style lunches Fridays in September
Buffet Style Lunch – October 18th.
In October, we will be running a Brunch Service run by our Level 3 Food and Beverage students so make sure you note the date for your diary.
Some exciting news:
Our Hospitality Team have taken over the running of The Hub Café located on the Palmerston Road Campus. We have updated the menu and have some fresh and exciting new food options available.
The Hub is open to the public from 7.30am through to 2.00pm every Monday to Friday right through till late December.
