Do You Want to Start a Career in the Creative Industries?

This is a 17 week (one semester) project based programme that provides you with knowledge  and studio experience in creative practice which includes:  Art, Design and Fashion.

The NZ Certificate in Arts & Design [Level 4] is a project based programme for school leavers and adults who require an introduction to a range of skills and knowledge in the creative professions. This programme has ‘real life’ opportunities with projects in a variety of contexts. It will introduce you to the bigger picture of the creative sector and how it operates both locally in Aotearoa New Zealand and globally.

 

Career Opportunities and Outcomes

You will gain broad introductory knowledge and understanding in a variety of creative contexts.

This qualification is primarily intended to provide a pathway to higher education rather than employment, however, graduates may gain experience in voluntary community projects and small businesses in arts, design & fashion. During this programme you will produce a creative portfolio as well as an individual E-portfolio to document your progress that will support your entry to higher levels of study.

Scholarships

EIT offers a variety of scholarships across various subjects and programme levels.  Some scholarships are based on your age, some are specific to the subject you want to study.  Not all scholarships are based on your academic ability and anyone wanting to study should investigate what scholarships are available to them.  

You can find a list of EIT scholarships here however there are many more scholarships offered nationally.  Information about these is on an database called “givME”. givME is accessible at EIT or at some public libraries.
