  • General Scholarships

    Year 13 Degree Study Grant

    • A scholarship will be available to every Hawkes Bay Year 13 Secondary School graduate commencing degree study at EIT in February 2012.
    • 100% FREE tuition fee for Year One.
    • 50% FREE tuition for Year Two (subject to applicants meeting agreed standards).
    • Fees that are the responsibility of the student are: Students Association, Course Related Costs, and any extra courses over the equivalent of full-time study.
    • Applicants must:
    • Undertake full-time degree study at EIT in February 2011.
    • Be a Year 13 school-leaver from a secondary school in the Hawke’s Bay region from Dannevirke to Wairoa, Gisborne and Taupo.
    • Meet the EIT Year 13 degree entry criteria to be eligible.
    • Be a New Zealand resident.
    • Scholarships are also available to all Year 13 students in the North Island should they study the Bachelor of Viticulture or the Bachelor of Wine Science commencing in February 2011.  Applicants must meet the degree entry criteria.

  • NZDF Reserve Forces Hawke’s Bay Education Grants

    What are the NZDF Reserve Forces – Hawke’s Bay Education Grants?

    Three grants are offered to secondary school and EIT students to combine study and volunteer for the New Zealand Army Territorial Force.  The student will be able to complete their basic training and then study at EIT.  They will have 20 days per annum working with the Reserves, during some weekends.

    The grant is generously funded by GEON, the RSA and the Services Chartiable Trust.

    The grant is $2,000 and will be paid in two allocations of $1,000.

    • Payment One – Successful completion of the Army Basic training course and successful completion of a fulltime course in the first semester at EIT.
    • Payment Two – Successful completion of a full year of “efficient service” with the Territorial Force and successful completion of a full year course at EIT.

    Who may apply?

    Applicants must be 17 years old and meet the entry criteria tests for the reserves and the entry criteria for their selected programme of study at EIT.

    Applicants must have NCEA Level 1 in both English and Maths (minimum of 12 credits in each).

    Applicants must be from the Hawke’s Bay region, from Wairoa to Dannevirke.

    Both male and female applicants are eligible.
