Staff will be on hand all day to give future students the information they need

EIT Hawke’s Bay is starting the new academic year by hosting its information and enrolment day on Thursday, January 17 at both the main campus in Taradale and the regional learning centres in Hastings, Maraenui, CHB and Wairoa.

Future students and their families will have the chance to find out about the array of both proven and exciting new programmes, such as the freshly introduced Barbering certificate or EIT’s latest degree, the Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science based on community health needs. EIT offers also a broad variety of fee free open entry programmes which are worth taking a look at.

Students will be able to check out all of the flexible part-time, full-time as well as online study options. Experts will be available to inform about various scholarships such as the Māori and Pasifika Trades Training and the Government fees free scholarship that offers free tuition for eligible first time tertiary students.

People who are unsure of what they want to study or where their educational pathway may lead them have the chance to chat with careers counsellor Eddie Carson. Those who missed out on NCEA credits but still want to take up a tertiary education will be able to discuss possible study opportunities.

Whether they are after help to choose the right subjects or need some advice for the best way to get into their chosen career, there will be someone to give them the information they need before the courses start in February.

 “It’s a great opportunity for all people to come and figure out the next steps of their careers or educational journeys,” said Samantha Potts, EIT liaison adviser.

It’s worth having a look around and getting to know the beautiful campus with its great facilities, state of the art technology and real life learning opportunities such as the ‘mini hospital’ for nursing students.

“Our team will be on hand all day to give you guidance and support with your enquiries and enrolments,” Potts said.
