A New Gateway to Quality Education

June 21, 2017

Greater access to education for the Tairāwhiti region.

Access to quality education that meets community needs and employer demand is a core value of EIT.
Now a new link with the Tertiary Accord New Zealand – TANZ eCampus – has made a
wider range of programmes available to the Tairāwhiti district.

Students can enrol through TANZ under EIT and study qualifications from six New
Zealand tertiary institutions, including EIT.
All qualifications are NZQA accredited and recognised internationally.

EIT Tairāwhiti campus director Jan Mogford  says the nature of online programmes means
potential students don’t have to sacrifice work commitments or time with family.

“At the moment the focus is mainly on business, project management and leadership
– but there are always more courses being developed to go online.”

Mrs Mogford says those thinking about studying should visit EIT Tairāwhiti’s main campus or pop in to their nearest regional learning centre for more information.
Although TANZ programmes are online, those enrolled at EIT can access regional learning centre and main campus computers, student support services and facilities such as the library. Students are also able to access experts and tutors in their field of study via
TANZ.

“It’s great for a business to have staff who can do things properly. With TANZ, local business
owners can upskill their employees for a comparatively low cost.”

EIT’s official TANZ eCampus courses are the New Zealand Certificate in Project
Management [Level 4], the New Zealand Certificate in Business (Introduction to Team
Leadership [Level 3] and the New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management)
