As Hawke’s Bay’s Pathway to Podium athlete and coach programme coordinator, senior lecturer in EIT’s School of Health and Sport Science Marcus Agnew is helping prepare some of the region’s most promising young sports stars for medal-winning performances. Sport Hawke’s Bay, EIT, High Performance Sport New Zealand and Sport New Zealand are joint partners in the initiative. Marcus, who lectures Bachelor of Recreation and Sports students in biomechanics and physical conditioning, is helping facilitate coach development for Shannon Gearey (athletics), Bobbi Gichard swimming), Regan Gough (bike), Elise Legarth (kayak), Holly Manning (athletics), Jo Mari Meyer (swimming) and Sarah Morton (football).
