EIT has a bumper year for graduates

R12EIT-2484We are celebrating a record number of graduates by spreading our capping ceremonies over two days at the Napier Municipal Theatre.

Just under 390 diplomas, bachelor and honours degrees, postgraduate diplomas and master degrees will be awarded for 2013, up a massive 23 percent.

Some 30 percent of graduates are Maori.

The ratio of younger people gaining degrees from EIT is increasing – 31 percent of the degree graduates are under 25.

Valedictorians will represent fellow graduates in addressing family, friends and academics. They are

  • From New Zealand, Angela Beattie, Graduate Diploma in Oenology and Graduate Diploma in Viticulture
  • From Israel – Shiran Atira, Bachelor of Teaching Early Childhood Education , and
  • Originally from the UK, Philip Shambrook, Bachelor of Recreation and Sport
