What is on the NZ Skills Shortage List?

The Herald recently completed a survey with NZ Chief Executives.

  • 77% supported more funding for tertiary education in subjects relevant to NZ skills shortages
  • And 44% back more advantageous student loans for subjects relevant to skills shortage

So which areas are on the skills shortage list?

Related to qualifications that you can study at EIT – here they are:

  • Auditing – study the Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in accounting
  • A Range of nursing specialisations – study the Bachelor of Nursing or Master of Nursing
  • Social Worker – study the Bachelor of Applied Social Sciences and major in Social Work
  • A broad Range of IT roles – study the Bachelor of Computing Systems or the Graduate Diploma or Post graduate Diploma in IT
  • Chef – study the two year chef programme and gain a Diploma in Professional Chef Practice
  • Electrician – study the Certificate in Electrical Trades
