Profile
Robin (Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Mahanga) has extensive leadership experience in education and a deep commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and kaupapa Māori. Prior to starting at EIT in December 2025, Robin was a Leadership Advisor at the Ministry of Education, where he coached principals to give effect to Te Tiriti, integrate iwi aspirations into strategic plans, and lead professional learning initiatives.
Previously, Robin served as Principal of Tamatea High School (2015–2024), where he strengthened the school’s reputation, established a rumaki reo programme, and built strong partnerships with mana whenua. His earlier roles include Deputy Principal at Te Aute College, leadership within the Ahuriri Kāhui Ako, and Head of Māori at Napier Boys’ High School.
Robin is completing a Doctor of Education focused on how English-medium principals give practical effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. He also holds a Master’s degree in Education and has extensive experience in tikanga and kaupapa Māori leadership.
