My name is Nikki, I whakapapa to Ngati Porou, grew up in Kawerau and now live in Napier with my husband and daughter.  I completed a Sport Science degree in 2006 and have worked in a range of jobs in the health and fitness industry including sport centre management, personal training, community health and health education.  I am passionate about improving health through education and have been teaching in this area since 2013.

I am also passionate about bringing Māori knowledge to life within our Sport and Exercise programmes at EIT.

I teach on the Level 5 Certificate in Exercise and the Level 5 Diploma in Recreation, Sport and Exercise.  I also provide academic and pastoral support to students as part of my role as the Māori mentor for the School of Health and Sport Science.
