Helen has Executive academic oversight of teaching, learning and assessment across a range of discipline areas including the Schools of:

• Education, Social Sciences and Vet Nursing
• IDEAschool and Toihoukura
• Health and Sport Science
• Nursing
• Te Ūranga Waka, Te Whatukura

Prior to joining EIT in 2022 Helen was at the University of Winchester in the United Kingdom. Initially appointed to the role of Assistant Head of the School of Health and Sport Science, she was soon made Acting Head of School, then Acting Dean, before taking up the role permanently in 2024.

Helen has extensive expertise in sports science and research, gaining a B.Sc. (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Bath, a MSc in Sport and Exercise Science at Massey University Auckland, and PHD in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Winchester.

Helen is based at the EIT Hawke’s Bay Campus in Taradale, Napier
