HB Rugby Union EIT scholar Liam Udy Johns

September 2, 2019

How have you adapted to studying full-time, playing rugby and juggling other commitments?

Well, I struggled a bit at the start of the semester with the early wake-ups for academy and then going to and sitting in class. But as the time went on, I got used to it and now it just feels normal. I’ve made heaps of new friends along the way, as most people say, in the class, we’re all whānau now.

Liam Udy Johns (Magpie Academy) received a HB Rugby Union EIT scholarship

What has been the highlight of your time at EIT so far?

Just meeting new people and learning things that I haven’t known before.

Can you tell us how your average day looks like?

This is usually from Monday to Friday: 5am wake up, 5.45am be at the gym for a workout and conditioning and skills, won’t start till like 6/6.10am, finish around 7.45 and have a shower and breakfast, 9am start EIT, 2.45pm finish at EIT, have my own time, either sleep or do some online work for EIT till 5pm, 6pm training for rugby, get home from training at around 8pm.
