Winner of EIT Business Award Feels Validated

August 27, 2018

Knowing that “we’re doing things right” has been a huge boost for Brett Mead and the team at First Chiropractic Hastings after a win in the city’s celebration awards last week.

Brett and wife Emma have owned the business for three years. Taking out the EIT Trades Services category in the Hastings City Celebration Awards was “great for the team and really validates what we do”, said Brett.

Brett has a varied business background and Emma has been a chiropractor for nine years. Entering was an opportunity to reflect on what they’ve done over the past three years and be judged on those achievements.

“We’ve worked hard on increasing our client base and ensuring what we do is modern and to a high standard. It’s great for our team to get recognition for that effort. While there’s always room for improvement, it’s helpful to know you’re doing things right and are up there with other professional businesses.”

EIT has been a long time sponsor of the Awards that are run by the Hastings City Business Association.

This year EIT marketing lecturer Regan Cotter was the Trades Services judge. He was enthusiastic about the calibre of the finalists: Cameo Skin and Beauty, Clyde Furniture, Mphosis Hair, Bikram Yoga and First Chiropratic Hastings.

“It was insightful to observe what businesses are doing and for me, a chance to take what I learned into my teaching. It was also gratifying to share my observations with the business owners afterwards in my feedback.

“Overall, the level of passion all the finalists had for their business was phenomenal.”

In presenting the award, Brenda Chapman EIT marketing director told the audience that EIT was “proud to stand in the reflected glory of these high achieving businesses”.
