EIT Offers New Online Business Programmes

August 22, 2017

Central Hawke’s Bay regional learning centre staff are walking the talk in promoting online learning programmes to would-be students.

Centre coordinator Sandra Fleming and learning facilitator Kathryn Lee are both enrolled in the Level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Business – Introduction to Team Leadership, a programme offered through the online learning platform TANZ eCampus.

EIT partnered up with other leading New Zealand educators to launch the platform last year and the online study options are being progressively developed across a widening range of programmes.

ARA Institute of Canterbury, Otago University, Universal College of Learning Palmerston North and Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology are EIT’s partners in the project.

TANZ eCampus students are well supported by personal advisors who follow them through their learning journey. They also have access to experienced course facilitators to help them achieve their study goals.

Sandra was encouraged to continue on her learning journey having gained the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in First Line Management three years ago.

“When the information about the TANZ online learning platform came available, I really liked what was being offered,” she says.

Sandra says having Kath as one of more than 100 classmates enrolled in her study programme was a further incentive to enrol. The two are studying part-time over six months.
“With students able to do this at home, we’re looking at introducing a buddy system for those who enrol. It’s much more interesting when you have study mates to bounce around ideas.”
She finds many people are interested in studying at home, and believes the three business certificate programmes offered will be of particular interest to those who want to get back into the workforce.
