For the second successive year, EIT students upped the fashion stakes at Hawke’s Bay Racing’s Spring Carnival by modelling their own designs.

Five fashion certificate students were entered in the Fashion in the Field’s Young Designer section and, responding to the avant garde theme, they all showed great form with strikingly chic outfits.

The students’ entries in Fashion in the Field have been a major part of their year’s classwork. That started earlier in the first semester when, on an industry trip to Auckland, they started shaping up their creative ideas visiting a pleating business and fabric stockists.

“I’m sure it will also have encouraged many to consider studying for our new Level 5 New Zealand Diploma in Fashion, which will have its first intake next year.”
