A new health and beauty programme!

January 23, 2012

There are more fashion and beauty training skills with the introduction of the inaugural EIT Tairäwhiti, Certificate in Applied Practical Skills (fashion, beauty, health and hair).

Group Manager for Business and Humanities, Kim Holland, says the new course is another exciting opportunity for the region.

The 17-week full time course is modelled on the very successful option at the Hawke’s Bay EIT campus, and links into high level qualifications on offer at both campuses.

A classroom at EIT Tairawhiti is currently undergoing an extensive refit to include a hair salon and fashion room.

“It will allow all aspects of the programme to be taught right here,” says Kim. “We have always had a strong demand particularly for hairdressing courses here, with a lot of interest in beauty therapy too.  This course links nicely into our health and fitness, fashion, and massage programmes.”

There are limited spaces available on the introduction prgramme, which gets underway in February 2012.
