EIT Hawke’s Bay Well Rated by Professional Accountants Body

December 2, 2009

EIT Hawke’s Bay has attracted the maximum five-year approval term for delivering its four-year Chartered Accountants programme.

The New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants’ accreditation follows its tertiary review of programmes offered by EIT’s School of Business.  The review panel met with staff students and the school’s advisory committee on the Taradale campus in September.

The institute commended the school for appointing a full-time research professor, its strong relationships with the profession and industry locally and the high esteem with which graduates were regarded.

The school was also commended for the positive learning experience it provided to students and on its collegial environment and management’s efforts to create an inclusive culture where staff felt valued.

EIT School of Business head Linda Turner said the five-year accreditation was a ringing endorsement for the quality of the accountancy programmes and their delivery to students.  It also acknowledged the high calibre of staff employed by the school.
