A Tairāwhiti Polytechnic promotional video is made to use in international marketing. On the end of September 1992 there have been 46 students with the main group of 12 coming from Taiwan. Students stay from 4 weeks to 40 weeks. Currently there are 5 tutors working in the International Section.

Driving Education within a Tairāwhiti Polytechnic Driving School is established to support a number of ACCESS HT and Transportation courses as well as providing fee paying Defensive Driving courses. This extends into Forestry Driving skills and an off campus programme in Napier.
