Profile

Md Akbar Hossain currently holds the position of Postgraduate Lecturer in the School of Computing at the Eastern Institute of Technology, New Zealand. He earned his Ph.D. from the School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. He also obtained an M.Sc. in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Trento, Italy. Following his Masters, he was honored with the prestigious Marie Curie Early Stage Research fellowship, enabling him to conduct research in European Union (EU)-funded projects in Germany and Greece. Furthermore, Dr. Hossain serves as the Lead Guest Editor for the EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking Special Issue on “Cognitive UAVs in Critical Missions: IoT-based Applications, Protocols and Deployments.” Additionally, he is an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Computers and Applications published by Taylor and Francis Group and an active reviewer for several well-regarded journals such as JNCA, Elsevier Ad-Hoc Networks, and IEEE Transactions on Communication. His research is focused on Ransomware actor profiling, Cyber Security, wireless networks, Internet of Things, and Cognitive Radio Networks.
