Celebrating 100 years of Women’s Suffrage in New Zealand, at Tairāwhiti over 50% of full-time students and two thirds of part-time students are women.10% of women students are over 40 years and 50% of new Bachelor of Science students are women.

Tairāwhiti offers 9 papers in the B.Sc. and B.Sc.(Technology) from the University of Waikato year one science programme. This is managed by the General and Vocational department.

A conjoint agreement with Massey University is signed to offer a range of year one Bachelor of Arts, Social Sciences and Bachelor of Social Work papers.
