Ryman Healthcare - Sir James Wattie Scholarship
$15,000 scholarship for business students (undergraduate or postgraduate) who are at least in their second year of studies at EIT Hawke’s Bay campus.

The Faculty Dean’s Study Abroad Scholarship
While studying towards your Bachelor of Computing Systems degree, spend a semester in Germany with the Faculty Dean’s Study Abroad Scholarship.
Apply now for exchange study in Germany.
Applications can be submitted one semester before the intended Study Abroad semester. Up to two scholarships will be awarded each academic year.
Applicants notified within two months, depending on the intended year/semester of Study Abroad.
OneChoice Futures Grant
Overview
At OneChoice, our goal has been to protect the quality of people’s lives. We do this by providing a range of insurance products and policies, including life, income protection, or funeral insurance, designed to meet the needs of everyday New Zealanders and offer peace of mind at an affordable price.
We know that health for you and your family is only ever as good as the people who are providing it. And we know that finances are a key factor for families as well as insurance products and services. So, with that in mind, we are helping to encourage the best people into the healthcare, business, and finance industries by providing the OneChoice Futures Grant.
The Award
This Grant is awarded annually to one person, with a monetary value of $5,000 NZD.
This amount is paid as a one-off payment to the Winner.

Eligibility criteria
- To be eligible, you must be a domestic undergraduate enrolled full-time in an accredited New Zealand Tertiary Education Institution and studying for a certificate, diploma, degree or traineeship in any of the following areas:
- Business – including any business-related courses from any institution.
- Finance – including actuarial, statistics, accounting and general finance courses.
- Medicine – including medical and health sciences, surgery and medical research.
- Healthcare – including health and fitness-related specialties, sport sciences, health services assistance and international health.
- Specialist healthcare – including nursing, optometry, dentistry and pharmacy.
- Only citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand can apply.
- You must have reached 18 years of age to enter.
- Employees and immediate family members including the spouse, de-facto spouse, parent, guardian, child or sibling (“Immediate Family Members”) of a OneChoice employee are ineligible to enter. Employees, and Immediate Family Members of Greenstone Financial Services Pty Ltd and Greenstone Financial Services NZ Limited are also ineligible to enter.
- Entrants must abide by the Terms and Conditions for an entry to be deemed eligible.
The challenge
To apply for the OneChoice Futures Grant, you’ll need to write an essay (maximum 700 words) on why you want to work in your selected industry and the difference you hope to make in your particular field of study.
We’re looking for submissions that reflect a true desire to improve the quality of people’s lives. It doesn’t have to be great prose, just honest and from the heart, so start thinking about the real reasons you’ve chosen the career path you have and then put them into words.
How to apply
All applicants (entrants) must email the following documentation to grants@onechoice.co.nz for their submission to be considered:
- Proof of Identification;
- Proof of enrolment, including course name, tertiary institution name and enrolment status;
- Your response (max word count 700 words); and
- Contact details (including residential address).
Selection process
The Winner of the Grant will be selected and awarded by a panel of judges from the OneChoice team in their absolute discretion, on the basis of the entry that best grasps the challenge. The panel for the 2025 Grant will convene from 15 November, 2025.
Notification
The Winner of the 2025 Grant will be notified by email and phone, with their name published on the OneChoice Insurance website on 2 February, 2026.

Te Waiu o Aotearoa Trust Scholarship
Overview
Te Waiu o Aotearoa Trust was established in 1994 in partnership with Māori and Iwi entities to promote, develop and provide for the education and advancement of Māori in the general business, banking, and finance industries.
Scholarship value
Each year, at the trustees’ discretion, up to four Māori recipients throughout Aotearoa are each awarded a $5,000 scholarship towards their tertiary study costs.
Applications open: 16 June 2025
Applications close: 12 October 2025
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for a Te Waiu o Aotearoa Trust Scholarship applicants must:
- Be of Māori descent and Iwi registered.
- Be enrolled at a New Zealand tertiary institution in 2026.
- Be studying a general business-related or banking and finance-related degree.
- Be studying full-time.
- Preferably fluent in Te Reo Māori, but not necessary.
- Submit their application and supporting documentation by 11:59pm Sunday 12 October 2025.
Selection criteria
The Trustees Panel will consider the applications based on the following criteria:
- Leadership at tertiary institution and in the
- Involvement with Iwi, Hapū, Marae and wider community.
- Life and work experience.
- Whakapapa with appropriate endorsement.
- Confirmation of study details.
The scholarships will be awarded to up to four Tāne and Wāhine throughout Te Waka-a-Māui (South Island) and Te Ika-a-Māui (North Island).
Scholarship awards are valued at a maximum of $5,000 (including GST). All applications to the Trust will be assessed against the criteria set out above in accordance with the Trust Deed.

- 13 October – 19 November 2025 – Applications reviewed by Trustees panel, interviews held (if applicable) and selections made.
- November 2025 – Applicants notified of application outcome.
- December 2025 – Scholarship funds paid.

Holstein Friesian New Zealand Scholarship
The Holstein Friesian New Zealand (HFNZ) Scholarship was established in 2012 to support Young Breeder members (aged 16–35) pursuing further education, with the aim of encouraging students who are passionate about contributing to the future of New Zealand’s dairy sector. This scholarship is awarded annually and is designed to assist with the expenses of tertiary study, including tuition fees and/or educational resources.
The scholarship is open to students studying in any field, provided their area of study can be meaningfully connected to Holstein Friesian New Zealand and/or the dairy industry. Relevant disciplines may include (but are not limited to) agriculture, animal management and veterinary nursing, environmental studies, business, finance, communications, or other related areas.
Applications close: Friday 7th November 2025
Eligibility criteria:
- Must hold a current membership of Holstein Friesian New Zealand
- Be aged between 16 and 35 years old on 1 January of the year of study.
- Be a New Zealand citizen
- Be currently enrolled in or applying to study at an accredited tertiary institution in New Zealand
- Applicants must not have previously received the HFNZ Scholarship.
The scholarship is open to applicants at any stage of their tertiary study, provided they meet the above eligibility criteria.

- Completed scholarship application form
- Letter of application (see application form for criteria)
- Curriculum vitae
- Verified copy of academic qualifications
- Verified copy of passport or visa
- Letter of support from at least one referee (see application form for criteria)
- Proof of enrolment (encouraged but not required)
