High School Students Sharpen Rugby Skills

May 9, 2014

IMG_3645High school students appreciated time out for sports this week with a skills training session organised by EIT and the Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union.

Fifty students drawn from Hawke’s Bay high schools took part in the event, held on Karamu High School’s rugby fields.   Helping them polish their skills and teamwork were EIT sport and recreation lecturer Marcus Agnew and Magpies coaches Craig Philpott and Danny Lee.

Rugby Academy members and EIT students Ben Parson, Jorian Tangaere, Jason Long and Sean Morrison also worked with students on developing their skills.

One of the HBRU’s First Fifteen Group of Sponsors and the official and exclusive education provider to the Magpies, EIT sponsors the Rugby Academy, which works with promising young players.
