Enrolment figures are running hot at EIT Hawke’s Bay, with some programmes
already at full capacity and wait-listing would-be students.
The Eastern Institute of Technology says its individual enrolments are eight percent up compared to the same time last year. Enrolments for equivalent full-time students hit the 1000 mark at the start of this week and are up seven percent on 12 months ago.
The level of inquiries also reflects the surge in interest – up three percent.
Programmes that are fully subscribed are the Diploma in Design Technology (CAD), the Certificate in Electrical Engineering, the Certificate in Contemporary New Zealand Nursing Practice, the Bachelor of Nursing, the Certificate in Fashion Apparel, the Certificate in Work and Life Skills (Polyventure) and the National Certificate in Hairdressing (Practice), Year 1.
EIT says people still wanting to get onto these programmes should contact the institute as soon as possible, as enrolled students may still withdraw.
Enrolled and would-be students are invited to attend a presentation being held at EIT on Wednesday, 23 January. The evening starts at 5.30pm with a tour of the Taradale campus. The 30-minute presentation will get underway at 6pm, and EIT support staff will be available for a further hour to answer questions.
