Students Take Their Art to The Next Level

November 21, 2016

dan-cunliffeSecond-year degree students at EIT’s ideaschool are holding own exhibition to showcase the diversity and quality of their work.

Titled Next Level, the four-day exhibition will feature art and design work produced by 34 students over the year.    It will encompass sculpture, furniture making, graphic design, textiles, painting and photography.

Among those exhibiting will be Dan Cunliffe who has constructed contemporary looking items using concrete and oiled walnut.  From Napier, the 28-year-old is keen to develop a creative practice in object design and construction here in Hawke’s Bay.

As part of their project-based Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design, the students have designed and organised the exhibition themselves, supported by ideaschool lecturers.
