Visual Art and Design

study art and designIDEAschool has a range of visual arts and design programmes.  This includes the first project based art and design degree in New Zealand, educating students to think creatively, act professionally, and to develop the technical skills needed to become practicing artists and designers in order to develop a career in the fast growing creative industries.

Music

study art and designTake your musical talent to the next level.  You’ll develop skills in composition, music theory, recording techniques, and hone your performance skills through regular live shows over our one year programme.

Fashion

study art and designDo you have a passion for fashion? From garment design and production, to wowing the audience with your own unique style on the EIT | Te Pūkenga fashion show runway, you’ll experience it all with our programmes.

Screen Production

study art and designDo you want to join the exciting world of film, television and cross-plaform media?  In our highly industry focused practical programme you will produce a diverse portfolio, leading to employment in the screen production industry or work as an independent producer.

Winning Designer Inspired By Māori Heritage

study art and designNapier-based designer Misty Ratima is to showcase a collection of her garments at New Zealand Fashion week after being named the supreme winner of the indigenous Māori design competition Miromoda.

Misty was invited to enter garments in the nationwide competition for Māori fashion designers staged at Pātaka Art + Museum in Porirua at the weekend.

Working on a commercial promoting the EIT | Te Pūkenga Diploma in Screen Production was dèja vu for students and the professional production team filming on campus.

For the 13 students completing their diploma studies, it was an opportunity to apply what they had learnt over the last two years to a real-life filming situation.
