Renata is the lecturer for the Sport and Fitness Trades Academy. She completed her BSpExSci and PGDipSpExSci at WINTEC in Hamilton before completing her GradDipTeaching extramurally through Massey University. From 2007-2009 she taught Physical Education and Health, Digital and Food Technology and Drama at Wanganui Girls’ College.  She completed her CeLLD through a grant from the Ministry of Education whist working at Wanganui Girls’ College.  After gaining her full New Zealand teacher registration she moved to the UK and had a brief stint at relief teaching in primary and secondary schools in Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.  She then was a Development Officer, Course Leader and Tutor in the Sport team at Loughborough College.

Renata’s postgraduate research interests are injury prevention and rehabilitation especially lower limb injuries, hypermobility and gluteus medius weakness in netballers.  More recently her interest in online learning and pedagogy has led to her working on projects that span across several departments developing student and staff skills and developing interactive resources.

She has played, coached and managed netball for many years and currently plays in the Napier Netball League.  She also has sporting interests in open water swimming and skiing.
