Profile

My second language teaching experience has been building gradually since 1998 in Wellington when I trained with and taught for English Language Partners.  My undergraduate degree from Victoria University is in Social Anthropology so working with peoples from different cultures is my first interest and love.  I gained a CELTA certificate to teach adults English and then continued studying towards my post graduate diploma in second language teaching with Massey University.  I am very interested in students’ speaking skills and therefore have become an examiner of the IELTS speaking exam and the Speech NZ OCESOL exam.  I also enjoy teaching these courses at EIT as well as facilitating and teaching groups such as annual student visitors from northern Japan.  My latest involvement at EIT has been to join the teaching team of the NZAID-funded ELTO (English Language Training for Officials) Programme.
