Help restore Papatūānuku’s cloak

Do your part for nature and help to restore Papatūānuku’s cloak by learning how to propagate and grow native trees.

In this Propagation and Cultivation night class, you will learn to:

  • Collect your own native tree seeds
  • Learn the tricks of the trade to ensure your seeds germinate and thrive
  • Make your own successful potting mix
  • Learn to record your seed raising journey for future reference
  • Incorporate sustainable solutions in your growing methods
  • Learn health and safety practices to keep you safe

Time commitment

This course is delivered as a night class so you can fit it around your work and home life. 

Classes run from 5.30pm – 8.30pm every Tuesday evening starting Tuesday, 15 February 2022 until Tuesday, 12 July 2022.

Who is eligible to enrol?

  • Successful completion of a Level 3 certificate (minimum 42 credits at Level 3); or
  • Successful completion of the NZ Certificate in Sustainable Primary Production [Level 4]; or
  • An equivalent qualification.

For applicants 20 years or older without any of the above academic criteria, evidence of relevant knowledge and experience, and the ability to undertake tertiary study at diploma level is required.  In this case the applicant will be required to participate in an enrolment interview with the purpose of verifying the evidence.
