You can fit your study around your work, family and lifestyle – there is no need to be a full-time student while studying with eCampus NZ. You can work and learn. All study is completely online – with supportive facilitators and advisors to help you along the way.
This course is fully online and requires approximately 480 learning hours.
Outline
The purpose of this qualification is to provide students with the skills and knowledge to contribute to effective team performance and the potential to be effective in a leadership role within a team. In particular:
- Team dynamics – Team performance theories
- Active listening – How to give and receive feedback
- Courageous conversations – Giving instructions
- What is an objective/mission goal – Managing interpersonal conflict
- Setting SMART goals, targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Career Opportunities and Outcomes
Graduates of this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to contribute to effective team performance and the potential to be effective in a leadership role within a team.

Entry Requirements
Entry Criteria
This is an open entry programme which means no formal qualifications are required. You must be aged 16 or over and you are required to have a reasonable reading level in order to cope with the programme and to carry out written instruction.
Computer literacy is highly recommended in order to be able to cope with the digital components of the courses. Guidance and further details are provided in the application and enrolment information.
English Language Entry Requirement
Applicants whose first language is not English may also be required to provide evidence of their English language skills as listed below.
● IELTS 5.0 Academic (no lower than 5.0 in any subtest). For acceptable alternatives refer to the English Proficiency Outcomes Chart.
If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment.
Note: Applicants who have achieved NCEA Level 3 University Entrance requirements are not required to provide evidence of English Language Skills.
Entry with Credit
You may already have some knowledge or skills that can be recognised as part of your intended study. This may take a number of different forms e.g. study at a private training establishment, workplace training, other tertiary study, life experiences or voluntary work. If you think you may qualify, you may want to apply for Cross Credit (CC) or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
● CC is based on the equivalency of courses or qualifications. You would apply for CC if you have passed a very similar course at the same level.
● RPL is based on the assessment of your current knowledge and skills. You would apply for RPL if you had gained the relevant knowledge and skills through life experiences and informal learning situations.
You will be asked to provide details of anything that you would like considered as credit toward your intended programme of study, as part of your application.
You must apply prior to enrolment. CC and RPL cannot be awarded for a course if you are enrolled in that course. An original transcript or notice of results from the institute at which you previously studied (or verified copies) will be required for all applications.

Scholarships
EIT offers a variety of scholarships across various subjects and programme levels. Some scholarships are based on your age, some are specific to the subject you want to study. Not all scholarships are based on your academic ability and anyone wanting to study should investigate what scholarships are available to them.
You can find a list of EIT scholarships here however there are many more scholarships offered nationally. Information about these is on an database called “givME”. givME is accessible at EIT or at some public libraries.
