Intro

Do you have an overseas nursing qualification and want to achieve your Nursing Council of New Zealand registration? If so, then this is the programme for you.

This certificate delivers an accelerated refresher programme including nursing theory, health studies, social sciences, biological sciences, research and professional practice skills.

Successful completion of this certificate will allow you to practice in public and private hospitals, independent practices, midwifery, nursing education and other public health areas in New Zealand.

Outline

For two weeks you’ll study New Zealand Nursing Practice Theory on campus. Then you’ll spend four weeks completing the clinical components of the programme at either Hawke’s Bay Hospital or another approved healthcare organisation.

Extra clinical time may be required depending on your ability to achieve Nursing Council competencies in this timeframe.
