Year 13 Scholarship

EIT | Te Pūkenga is offering a limited number of Year 13 Scholarships.

The Year 13 Scholarship covers one year of full-time study and is available to Hawke’s Bay and Tairāwhiti (Gisborne) based students who are beginning an undergraduate degree.

There are also scholarships available for students in other regions for some EIT | Te Pūkenga programmes.

Opening and Closing Dates

Applications open: Monday 4th of September
Applications close: Thursday 19th of October 5pm

All applicants will be notified, via email, of the outcome of their application on Monday the 30th of October.

What does the scholarship cover?

The Year 13 Scholarship covers one year of tuition fees and one year of any course related costs which have been approved to be part of the scholarship.

Who can apply for this scholarship?

  • You must be a Year 13 students from Hawkes Bay or Tairāwhiti /Gisborne
  • You must meet the degree (or eligible certificate or diploma) entry criteria and intend to undertake full-time study at EIT Te Pūkenga, starting semester one 2024.
  • You must be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident

What to include in your application

A personal statement, of no more than 400 words, outlining your circumstances and future academic and career plans.

We will also request that applicants submit a letter of support from a referee. This can be either an academic or character reference speaking to the merits of their circumstances.

An academic transcript outlining your NCEA results to date.

Selection

All applicants will be notified, via email, of the outcome of their application on Monday the 30th of October.

When selecting our recipients, we will consider your financial need, academic achievements, future career aspirations, and your good character.

We will be hosting a series of workshops during the term 3 holidays. Information on these workshops will be made available on our Facebook page.
