EIT’s Hastings Regional Centre is to have a new home, one that is easy to access and tailored to meet the needs of students and staff.

The new location will be in the heart of the city, in Heretaunga Street West. EIT has purchased the building, which will be renovated and refitted before staff relocate ahead of the opening in late February.

The move was triggered by plans for significant construction work on the building adjoining the centre’s current location, opposite the Hastings Court House. That work could have potentially compromised the effective delivery of classes.

This is an exciting opportunity for furthering tertiary education in Hastings, says chief executive Chris Collins.

Students will find the centre easy to locate and it will offer them a modern, inviting and stimulating learning environment.
