Judging got underway at EIT on Monday for the Hawke’s Bay A&P Bayleys Wine Awards.

EIT is a proud sponsor of these awards and is involved in many ways.

Not only do we provide the venue but also Tim Creagh, a wine lecturer at EIT, is the competition director. He coordinates the entries and ensures that the wines are before the judges in a timely coordinated fashion to efficiently run the judging. He is ably assisted by wine science students, which is fabulous experience for them.

The School of Tourism and Hospitality provide catering services at the Awards Evening. This is brilliant experience for the front of house and cookery students as they are involved in a high quality prestigious event serving over 500 guests.

On top of that, EIT also sponsors the Best Student Wine for the competition!
