Nicole Lilburn is a firm believer it takes a community to raise a family.
She is in her second year of a Bachelor of Nursing at EIT, and is a single mum of four children.
She’s always been a busy person having been a business owner, Ironman competitor and helicopter operator in Taupo before moving to Hawke’s Bay four years ago.
During her recent placement Nicole’s wider support network of family and friends helped look after the children.
Nicole says it’s about being open to letting others help.
A personal experience of post natal depression has left Nicole with a passion for community and maternal mental health.
Nicole says EIT has been very accommodating to her situation, and positive towards her nursing goals, crediting several lecturers and practicum manager Sue Floyd for helping her through her studies.
