April Tasters in Wine, Ag and Hort

April 10, 2013

If you’ve got senior high school students in your family then you might be interested in our April school holiday taster programs.

There’s a two day viticulture and wine science workshop.  There will be hands-on activity learning about our local grape and wine industry.  Students will pick grapes and process them in our winery and then analyze the juice in our state-of-the art laboratory.  Students return later in the year to bottle their wine.

Horticulture is offering the chance to try potting, making cuttings, creating a worm farm and learning the basics of tractor driving.

And agriculture gives the chance to work with stock, try tractor driving, ATVs and some practical fencing.  Ideal for any student who enjoys being outside and a great opportunity to find out about farming.

So if you have a 16-18 year old and want to help them beat the school holiday boredom – talk to them about these tasters.
