Friday lunchboxers at ideaschool this week went international with a talk from Mark Clift. Mark wants to attract the world’s best minds to Hong Kong. As Chief Operating Officer of Cyberport, a creative hub of Digital Media Businesses based in Hong Kong, Mark says he is looking for creative and innovative people to push the limits of digital entertainment and technology. Just one of the companies based at Cyberport Mark talked about is Centro. Centro Digital Pictures is recognized as one of Asia’s premier animation, visual effects and post-production companies for the film and advertising industries. Centro’s feature credits include the pioneering “Storm Riders” which it also produced; Quentin Tarrantino ‘s “Kill Bill“; “Mr Popper’s Penguins” for 20th Century Fox; and Disney’s “The Muppets” featuring NZ’s own Brent McKenzie.
Mark was happy to answer questions about Cyberport’s internships, incubator programmes and business start-up successes from students . Thanks to FilmHB for hooking us up with this opportunity and Hastings District Council for bringing Mark to the Bay.
