Computer Aided Design (CAD) provides a springboard to diverse careers.

January 9, 2013

Computer Aided Design, or CAD, provides a springboard to diverse careers.

Job opportunities for graduates of our two year programme are in mechanical design and civil engineering as well as in industrial design and architecture.

Two of our recent graduates have secured very interesting jobs.

Dominic Busck returned to study in his mid-30s and took the architecture option in his 2nd year.  Now he’s working for Paris Magdalinos Architects as well as one day a week for furniture maker Peter Maclean in Clive. Dominic’s original career was as a furniture maker, so he’s delighted to combine both careers now.

Justin Magon is 26 and he has secured work in an engineering oriented job as a thermal energy plant designer for a company based in Hawke’s Bay.

Both men are highly complementary about what they have learned at EIT and how relevant it is in industry.
