Open Day at EIT

August 11, 2010

EIT Hawke’s Bay throws open its doors on Sunday (15 August) for an activity-packed Open Day. Visitors to the Taradale campus will be able to see demonstrations and displays, tour the facilities and chat to lecturers and students about programmes and career paths.

EIT Open Day, from 11am and 2pm, also offers hands-on activities and a chance to see students working on practical assignments that are part of their study programmes.

It will be a first opportunity for the public to view the newest facility on campus – the $8-million Trades and Technology Training Centre, which is to be officially opened on Friday. Students will be working on their project-based activities in the centre’s state-of-the-art workshops and facilities.

Entertainment planned for the Open Day includes model aeroplane flying displays and live music by the Kaweka Flyers and the Drones and Sticks Pipe Band. The campus café Bean There will be open and the EIT Students Association is planning a sausage sizzle.
