Health Centre
Tairāwhiti Polytechnic offers students FREE access to the nurse-led Health and Wellness Centre run by Turanga Health.
The Health and Wellness Centre is located in the Te Mauri Tu located on the main campus. Polly Maxwell is the Centre’s nurse.
Turanga Health Services
Polly will be coordinating various health promotion and screening activities throughout the academic year. She will usually be supported by other Turanga Health staff for these initiatives. In additionally she is available to provide students and their whanau with access to Turanga Health services including:
- health assessments
- health information
- help to quit smoking
- nutrition information
- pregnancy tests
- emergency contraception
- minor treatments
- referrals to other agencies
- mental health & addiction services
- tane ora/men’s health
- asthma
- oral health
- whanau ora/family health
- tamariki ora/well child
- mirimiri/massage
- kaumatua programme
Hours
- Monday – Friday 10am – 1pm
- Bookings can be made through the team in the Information & Enrolment Centre
