When you are not sure what course you should be studying, you can do some research by going online.

The Career Services website – www.careers.govt.nz is full of useful information and interactive tools to help you decide on your course of study and to prepare you for the workforce when you graduate.

You can also ask for help, the following people are skilled to providing assistance:

  • your Tutors
  • the Student Support team in the Information & Enrolment Centre
  • Jean O’Connell-Moetara, Career Services Kaitohutohu/Career Consultant in the Student Centre

You can make an appointment to see Jean and discuss the following:

  • career self assessment
  • decision making
  • action planning
  • information and advice

Jean also offers group workshops for graduating students; these workshops cover the following subjects:

  • career and job search practice
  • interviewing skills
  • job application process
  • CV information and production
