Computing at EIT
Looking for a serious computing qualification? At EIT you can gain a practical qualification that is designed to help you gain employment in the IT industry. Most EIT Diploma programmes and the Bachelor of Computing Systems Degree include industry-based placements or internships that can lead onto permanent employment. Many EIT Bachelor of Computing Systems graduates have secured IT jobs while studying, ready for when they complete the programme.
BCS Graduate Profile
Andrew King has recently graduated with his Bachelor of Computing Systems. As well as being one of EIT’s 2016 Valedictorians Andrew has just landed himself a job at NOW in Napier. Industry Projects
All computing Degree and specialist Diploma programmes include an industry based project providing those nearing graduation with an opportunity to work with industry either as an intern in an IT role, or working with a commercial organisation on a specific project.
Specialist Facilities
A purpose-built Information Technology Complex is located at the Hawke’s Bay Campus. There are nine networked computer labs with 24 student workstation stations in each. The rooms are environmentally controlled, with data show equipment in each room. There are specific labs for software development, hardware, multimedia and a room for project work. The facility also has a 50-seat tiered lecturer theatre.
