The Master of Nursing incorporates the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science.
The overall aim of the programme is to enable students to develop advanced knowledge and skills in nursing and health science related to students individual scopes of practice, (eg child and family health, critical care nursing, disease management, elder health), through intensive academic study, including advanced independent work, advanced practice, and research.
The Master of Nursing is a two-year full-time equivalent postgraduate programme, characterised by advanced study in nursing and health science.
An applied, clinically-focused postgraduate programme characterised by advanced study in nursing and health sciences. The Master of Nursing is awarded upon successful completion of five courses from the Master of Nursing Schedule, plus MN8.421 Research Design and Porcess, and either MN9.430 Independent Scholarly Project or MN8.440 Thesis.
The programme develops advanced knowledge and skills in nursing and health science related to students' individual scopes of practice through intensive academic study, including advanced independent work, advanced practice and research.
The Master of Nursing has been approved by the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a "masters with a clinical focus, including the content for preparation for nurse prescribing".
