Outcomes

The EIT Diploma in Wine Marketing combines Marketing and Wine courses, which will provide students with the skill and knowledge to enable them to work in the sales and marketing areas of a rapidly expanding New Zealand wine industry. It offers a unique opportunity to combine hands-on winery and vineyard experience with marketing-related courses.

Employment opportunities include careers in:

  • Retail wine sales
  • Winery sales representative
  • Wine marketing
  • Sales consultant.

Outline

All courses are held at the EIT campus, with visits to local wineries and vineyards.

The programme (120 credits) consists of compulsory and elective courses, at least 72 credits being marketing-related. One credit is equal to 10-12 learning hours. Learning hours include both classroom and out-of-class work.

At least 50 Level 2 NCEA credits within one year in 4 subjects, including at least 8 credits in Mathematics or Pangarau at Level 1 and at least 8 credits in English or Te Reo Maori, with a minimum of 4 credits in Reading, and a minimum of 4 credits in writing  or equivalent.

OR equivalent relevant qualification at Level 3 

OR over 20 years of age, with evidence of an ability to undertake tertiary study at Diploma level
